Hill Corner
Hill Corner is a new dwelling situated on an infill plot in rural Somerset. The design responds to the local materiality while serving as an outstanding example of sustainable architecture. It incorporates solar panels, air source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting systems, thermal mass on the ground floor, natural insulation, and locally sourced materials.
The material palette includes a cast concrete base, rubble ashlar stone for the main walls, vertical larch cladding for the smaller volumes and recesses, and a slate roof.
Planning permission was granted in 2021, and the project is currently under construction.
